The Stones have signed a new long-term deal with Man City. The English defender will play for the Premier League club until 2026.
City said in a statement on Tuesday that they had signed a new contract with the Stones, who were instrumental in helping the team win the league title last season and reach the Champions League final.
The 26-year-old’s previous contract with City was valid until 2022.
At one point last season, the Stones returned with a great performance despite losing a place in the regular XI to two teammates, Emerick Laporte and Ruben Dias. He then played for England in the European Championships, where his team lost to Italy in a final tiebreaker.
The Stones have played 16 matches since joining City from Everton in 2016 for 48.5 million. The team has won all possible domestic trophies in England.
